Spanish Rice

4 c. water
2 c. rice
½ c. shortening
1 chopped onion
1 shredded carrot
2 cloves garlic
1 can diced tomatoes
1 t. chili powder
2 chicken bouillons

Melt shortening and add onion. Cook onion until transparent. Add all other ingredients, cook until rice is done.
